Rosoboronexport (part of the Rostec State Corporation) is the organizer of Russia’s joint display at the first International Defense & Security Expo Vietnam 2019 (DSE), which will be held from October 2 to 4, 2019, at the International Exhibition Center in Hanoi, Vietnam.
“Rosoboronexport has accepted with appreciation the invitation of the organizers to exhibit at DSE 2019 and decided to support the debut exhibition in Vietnam, Russia’s key partner in Southeast Asia. Military-technical cooperation between our countries has been ongoing since 1953, and today it involves the widest possible range of weapons and military equipment. As part of the modernization of its national armed forces, Vietnam has become one of the major customers of Russian products, and we are pleased to note that, despite growing competition, our weapons are still the preferred choice here,” said Rosoboronexport’s Director General Alexander Mikheev.
At DSE 2019, Russia’s joint display encompasses stands of Rostec’s subsidiaries Rosoboronexport (Stand E71), NPK Uralvagonzavod (Stand E81), NPO Splav (Stand D71) and Research Institute of Applied Chemistry (Stand D71). In addition, the Russian delegation includes representatives of 12 Russian defense enterprises to participate in the business program of the exhibition. Among them are Kalashnikov Concern, Russian Helicopters, USC, AK Bars Shipbuilding Corporation, Morteplotekhnika Research Institute, Agat Research Institute, Remdiesel and others. They manufacture a wide range of products in demand among the armed forces and other security agencies of Vietnam, as well as countries in Southeast Asia,
Security is one of DSE 2019’s focus areas and Rosoboronexport presents in Hanoi a large number of products for equipping army, special forces and counter-terrorism units. Among them are Kalashnikov’s products showcased at the Company’s stand: SVD, SVDS Dragunov sniper rifles, special 18.5 KS-K carbine, Vityaz-SN submachine gun, Kalashnikov AK-15 assault rifle, Kalashnikov AK-203, AK-204 assault rifles and Kalashnikov Pecheneg machine gun.
Rosoboronexport will also be presenting the Tigr and Typhoon-K special armored vehicles intended for use by the special forces units, communications aids and close combat weapons, including with non-lethal ammunition.
A defense & security conference will be held on the sidelines of the exhibition, where Rosoboronexport will present the report “Countering Terrorism: Systems and Solutions” on October 3 at 14:00. Reports from other Russian participants of DSE 2019 are also scheduled.
In addition, Rosoboronexport expects that foreign delegations will show great interest in Russian-made weapons and military equipment for all services of the armed forces. The Company and manufacturers’ specialists are ready to hold presentations, give comprehensive information on the products offered, as well as discuss cooperation issues.
The delegations of the Ground Forces of Vietnam and the countries of the region will be able to get acquainted in detail with the world’s best selling products in the armored vehicle market segment that have proven themselves in real combat conditions: the world’s most popular T-90S tank, the latest T-90MS and the modernized T-72, BMPT Terminator fire support combat vehicle and the BREM-1M armored repair and recovery vehicle. The Iskander-E tactical missile system, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle, and the BTR-82A armored personnel carrier are expected to evoke interest.
Rosoboronexport will also be presenting a product line for the naval forces: the Gepard-3.9-class frigate, Project 22160 patrol vessel, Project 21980E special-purpose boat, as well as the Karakurt-E- and Sarsar-class small missile ships built by AK Bars Shipbuilding Corporation. In addition, the UGST universal deep-sea homing torpedo, developed by the Morteplotekhnika Research Institute, is on display in the naval cluster.
“I am sure that Defense & Security Expo Vietnam 2019 will start a good tradition of holding armament forums in Vietnam and will eventually occupy a worthy place among the world’s leading defense exhibitions. For Russia, it opens a window of opportunities for building up strategic partnership with Vietnam in the field of bilateral military technical cooperation,” added Alexander Mikheev.
