SEA will be highlighting its leading Torpedo Launcher Systems, which provide a crucial element of a multi-layered ship and fleet protection capability, at Defense & Security 2022 in Bangkok, Thailand.
With torpedo launcher systems in place in a range of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries, the Cohort company will use the show to further strengthen its relationships within the region and support major bids with Southeast Asian navies.
David Hinds, vice president Strategic Accounts at SEA, said: “We are looking forward to returning to Defense & Security in Thailand. The show is a fantastic opportunity to create new connections and develop existing relationships within the key ASEAN region.”
SEA’s renowned Torpedo Launcher System provides a rapid launch for a variety of NATO standard calibre light weight torpedoes. The system is easily configured and flexible to suit all weapons and platforms, while its design meets the requirements of ships varying in size and structure.
“The threats to navies are ever-changing, and our systems offer the flexibility to address these evolving challenges and provide protection for their fleets,” added Richard Flitton. “With our systems in service across the region, the opportunity to gain the latest insights from people on the ground and key industry stakeholders is invaluable for our business.”
Alongside the Torpedo Launcher System, SEA will also be highlighting its unmanned anti-submarine warfare (ASW) capability, Krait Defence System. Key to securing operational advantage in a congested underwater battlespace, SEA will be discussing how unmanned platforms can work in tandem with manned vessels to cover a large surface area to enhance submarine detection.
The show will also allow SEA to introduce its Integrated Communications System to the region. Connecting critical defence capability, the system allows near-instantaneous reconfiguration of a platform’s communications system to suit rapidly changing operational needs.
