Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) are partnering with Anduril Industries to explore advancements in mission autonomy for manned-unmanned teaming concepts, the company announced on 19 March.

The agreement was announced on the sidelines of the Singapore Defence Technology Summit 2025, which was held from 18-20 March.

According to Anduril, the partnership will investigate how collaborative operations between manned and unmanned systems can augment situational awareness, enhancing the decision-making effectiveness of warfighters.

“We are proud to partner with DSTA to demonstrate how Lattice for Mission Autonomy can enhance the effectiveness, lethality, and deterrent capability of the Republic of Singapore Air Force,” stated Brian Schimpf, Co-Founder and CEO of Anduril, noting that the agreement represents Anduril’s first international partnership for Lattice for Mission Autonomy.

“By embracing mission autonomy, Singapore is taking a leading role in operationalizing robotic and autonomous systems in the Indo-Pacific,” added Schimpf.

The company stated that DSTA and RSAF will leverage on Anduril’s Lattice for Mission Autonomy software platform to build collaborative autonomous behaviours for integration into various undisclosed autonomous systems, which will validate resulting software and behaviours across a series of simulation demonstrations throughout 2026.

“We recognise the need to capitalise on new innovative technologies such as autonomy and AI to complement our conventional systems. By forging strong partnerships with highly innovative defence technology companies like Anduril, we can push the boundaries of technology and develop new concepts to overcome operational challenges,” said DSTA Chief Executive Ng Chad-Son.

DSTA and RSAF has also partnered with ShieldAI to co-develop AI for autonomous flight operations, which will leverage the company’s Hivemind Enterprise solution to enhance autonomous capabilities and strengthen the RSAF’s operational effectiveness.

According to ShieldAI, Hivemind Enterprise is a suite of AI-powered autonomy software products designed for rapid development, test and evaluation, and deployment across domains for any intelligent machine.

Hivemind Enterprise accelerates autonomy development with platform products and AI-powered intuitive toolsets. The company claims that by transforming complex processes into scalable workflows, it significantly reduces the time required for teams to design, test, evaluate and deploy autonomous behaviours across various domains.
