The UAE-based Milanion Group has entered into an agreement with Indonesia’s Republik Defens Indonesia (RDI) – a subsidiary of Republikorp Group – to supply the Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL) with uncrewed surface vehicles (USVs).
Under the agreement, which was announced at NAVDEX 2025 on 17 February, Milanion will integrate its advanced autonomous conversion kits into locally designed and built vessels into USVs tailored for TNI-AL requirements.
According to Republikorp, the scope of the contract includes the delivery of an initial batch of five 20-metre USVs.
Milanion’s Conversion Systems are equipped with a suite of sensors that provide the operator with full 360-degree situational awareness during day and night operations and in adverse weather conditions.
The company noted that this capability is achieved by utilising an array of passive and active sensors, paired with an advanced sensor fusion algorithm that provides complete situational awareness regardless of the conditions. Typical sensor suites incorporated into the Conversion System include INS/GNSS, electro-optical and thermal cameras, radar, LiDAR and AIS.
“This collaboration is a testament to the complementary strengths of our two companies. Our evolving relationship will unlock opportunities across the tri-service domains of maritime, land, and air,” said Milanion CEO Davinder Dogra.
We are confident that this agreement will enable us to create innovative solutions that enhance operational capabilities based on local requirements,” said Dogra.
Milanion earlier signed an agreement in 2024 with the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB) to supply a converted USV to inform ongoing efforts in developing uncrewed maritime capabilities.
