Fincantieri is delighted to announce that, in a significant move to bolster maritime collaboration, Dario Deste, General Manager of the Naval Vessels Division from Fincantieri met with Admiral Ali Muhammad, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy at the Indonesian Navy Headquarters in Jakarta. This high-level discussion underscored the robust and growing partnership between the Italian shipbuilding giant and the Indonesian Navy.

The meeting, which was also attended by the Deputy Chief of Staff and the entire Indonesian Naval Staff, reflected the strategic importance of the PPA programme (Multipurpose Combat Ship) and the broader relationship with Fincantieri.

Key discussion points included a detailed progress report on the two PPAs under contract, discussions on the financing and confirmation of the delivery schedule for the two Frigates for Indonesia.

In a move to further cement the close cooperation, the parties scheduled a follow-up meeting for mid-September 2024, coinciding with the visit of the Italian Naval aircraft carrier units of the Cavour Group to Jakarta. This visit is expected to reinforce the collaborative efforts and strengthen the future working relationship between Fincantieri and the Indonesian Navy.
