The Royal Thai Navy is seeking B15 billion for a second modern frigate

The Royal Thai Navy has sought 15 billion baht over the next five years to support its intention to buy a new frigate, according to recent reports from the Bangkok Post.

In theory, the cabinet has already agreed. The request was submitted through the Ministry of Defence in a budget proposal for the fiscal year 2024, which begins on October 1, 2023. The frigate would be the navy’s second of its kind. The initial payment sought for the fiscal year 2024 is 1.7 billion baht.

This is a huge potential for shipbuilding and associated hardware firms. Defense & Security 2023 will be an excellent opportunity for firms to showcase and discuss their projects with Royal Thai Navy decision-makers.
