Safran Helicopter Engines and Thai Aviation Industries have signed a contract to support Arrius 2B2Plus of the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF), and have renewed the existing one intented for their Makila.
Powering their H135 and H225M helicopters, over 12 Arrius and 24 Makila engines are now covered by Safran’s Global Support Package (GSP). Since 2017, this agreement has proved its efficiency to satisfy RTAF’s requirements for optimum availability during their operations.
This agreement is executed through Thai Aviation Industries, the certified maintenance center supporting all military and civil engines in Thailand. In partnership with Safran, it provides helicopter engine depot repair, inventory management and technical support expertise to ensure fleet availability.
Valérie Patuel, Managing Director of Safran Helicopter Engines Asia, said: “the contract demonstrates the relationship we have built with RTAF over the years and marks a new milestone in our partnership. We are extremely proud of this continuous commitment for a GSP contract to support Arrius and Makila-powered rotorcrafts as we are committed to offering world-class support to our operators”.
Under the GSP, the customer receives the guarantee to have serviceable engines available whenever they need them. Other acclaimed GSP principles include budget predictability thanks to fixed-price per flying hour and a close technical partnership with the OEM.
GSP is part of EngineLife® Services, Safran’s range of solutions for helicopter engine operators.
