A procurement contract was signed between HAVELSAN and Qatar’s Barzan Maintenance Shield QTSP LLC for maintenance support within the scope of the AW-139 Project.
Under the contract signed by Dr. Mehmet Akif Nacar, General Manager of HAVELSAN and Abdullah Al-Khater, Vice President of Barzan Maintenance Shield:
HAVELSAN will provide maintenance, repair, sustainment and operation services for 36 months at the 90% activity ratio for the following pieces of equipment located at the Qatar Emiri Air Force (QEAF) AL UDEID Military Air Base/DOHA:
- 1 AW-139 Full Mission Simulator (FMS),
- 1 AW-139 Flight and Navigation Procedures Trainer (FNPT),
- 1 AW-139 Rear Cabin Trainer (RCT),
- 1 Tactical Control Centre (TCC),
- 1 Debriefing System.
A minimum of 100 hours of training per month will be provided for each system.
There are 2 maintenance/repair technicians deployed permanently in the field, and the service is provided with the support of HAVELSAN Headquarters staff including 1 Project Manager, 1 Administrative Coordinator, 1 Technical Coordinator and the R&D and Engineering Directorate Engineering staff.
