Philipp Senn Named Chief Technology Officer at AVT Australia

AVT Australia, the APAC division of Ascent Vision Technologies (AVT), is pleased to announce that Philipp Senn has been appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In his new position, Philipp will lead the company’s technology strategies for the defence, aerospace and unmanned systems industries.

Philipp joined the company in 2016 as a Senior Electronics Engineer. Under Philipp’s leadership, the department achieved significant technological innovations that have contributed to AVT’s next-generation of products for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), Counter Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-sUAS), and Air Defence.

As CTO, Philipp will lead AVT Australia’s Engineering teams, while working closely with key defence personnel and contract Program Managers to develop technology solutions for customers. Philipp will work in conjunction with AVT’s CTO, Sam Beck, to lead the company’s overall technology strategy to meet its business goals and continue the company’s strategic growth.

“Philipp has extensive experience in research and development (R&D), technological innovations and management, making him the ideal candidate to lead AVT Australia’s technology department,” said Tim Sheehy. “I am confident that under Philipp’s leadership, AVT Australia will continue to innovate revolutionary technology solutions for our customers, while we continue to achieve rapid growth as an organization. I am pleased to welcome Philipp to our Executive Team.”

Prior to joining AVT Australia, Philipp was a Research Engineer at the Bionics Institute where he worked on research devices for the electrical stimulation of the nervous system. Philipp graduated from ETH Zürich, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. He also holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Melbourne.
