SEA has been granted approval by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) to extend its regional office in Kuala Lumpur until 2022.
The office is vital for servicing SEA’s customers in South East Asia, and providing the region with access to the company’s innovative anti-submarine warfare, integrated communication systems and weapon-agnostic torpedo launcher solutions.
The SEA Kuala Lumpur office is the focal point for the company’s network of experts in the region, which has significantly expanded since the first office extension was granted.
The company’s innovative defence solutions have been widely adopted across the region, including its weapon-agnostic Torpedo Launcher System, which is currently in use by three navies due to its ability to launch NATO standard calibre weapons. Through its Kuala Lumpur office, SEA supports customers which have adopted its decoy launchers, integrated communications systems, anti-submarine warfare (ASW) capabilities and training and simulation solutions.
Steve Hill, Managing Director at SEA, said “We’re delighted that once again our Malaysian office has been granted an extension by the MIDA so that we can continue to provide our expertise and support to new and existing customers in this important area of the world. We now have a network of representatives in 9 out of the 10 markets in South East Asia, and we are actively pursuing further opportunities to develop our network of partners to increase our appeal as a supplier of choice.
“As we look towards the next three years and beyond, we’re excited to be sharing our innovative defence technologies, including our anti-submarine warfare Krait Defence System with navies in the region.”
The Krait Defence System (KDS) incorporates SEA’s pioneering low profile towed array and provides a cost-effective ASW solution for smaller platforms and is suited for navies of all sizes. The existing strong regional interest for KDS will be complimented this year with the launch of an interactive solution designed to offer flexible and layered ASW training at this year’s DESi (London) in September. The solution will be tailored to user needs and will include collaborative training for multiple roles.
