CONTROP Precision Technologies Ltd., a company specializing in the field of electro-optics (EO) and infrared (IR) defense and homeland security solutions, announced at Aero India 2019 that it will equip an Asian country’s Coast Guard with its advanced iSea EO/IR maritime surveillance payloads.
The systems will be deployed on several maritime vessels beginning in 2019 for territorial water protection missions. The easy-to-install, easy-to-operate systems include a long-range thermal camera, a high definition (HD) visible surveillance camera, and an eye-safe laser range finder (ELRF). In addition, the system features advanced image processing and video enhancement algorithms, automatic video tracker (AVT) and an automatic gain control (AGC).
“CONTROP previously supplied its EO/IR systems to the country’s Navy, and this first order from their Coast Guard is another sign of trust in CONTROP’s technology by their military forces,” said CONTROP CEO Hagay Azani. “These high-quality, gyro-stabilized camera systems provide clear day and night images at very long distances. For these reasons, the iSea family of payloads are widely used by navies, coast guards, and special naval operations teams on a variety of maritime vessels in many countries worldwide.”
The iSea system features a unique, cutting-edge stabilization technology that enables a continuous and uninterrupted line-of-sight (LOS) to ensure clear pictures, even in the roughest of seas. This robust system can withstand the harshest environmental conditions including fog, salinity and moisture. The iSea system offers a full solution for naval maritime operations that easily interfaces with other on-board systems, including vessel radar systems, to provide slew-to-cue functionality.
At Aero India 2019, CONTROP is highlighting its renowned EO/IR capabilities, including some of its advanced products, such as:
The well known iSky-50HD now has a new HD thermal imager, which revolutionizes its state-of-the-art performance capabilities. The iSky-50HD is a unique airborne camera payload with a new and advanced configuration of three channels: a continuous zoom HD thermal channel (MWIR), a continuous zoom HD day channel, and a SWIR spotter. Additional optional features can include an eye-safe laser range finder (ELRF) and/or laser pointer. The system includes superb gyro-stabilization, real-time image enhancement features, built-in IMU and automatic video tracker.
The SPEED-ER is a gyro-stabilized, land-based, ultra-long-range observation system for coastal and border protection. The SPEED-ER has three channels – a medium wave thermal imager (MWIR), a short wave infrared channel (SWIR) and wide and narrow visible cameras – which ensure sharp, high-resolution pictures, even in conditions of haze, dust, rain or high humidity, and at any hour of the day or night.
