Project of the Russian-Indian aircraft

The Sukhoi/HAL Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft (FGFA) is a fifth-generation fighter being developed by India and Russia.

In connection with media reports on the project of the Russian-Indian aircraft of the 5th generation, the Press Service of the JSC “Rosoboronexport” being a part of the State Corporation Rosteс informs that the Russian-Indian agreement is now being in force and there are obligations, under which the joint project on creating the aircraft of the 5th generation will be executed by the parties in accordance with the agreed terms and stages.

The history of the Russian-Indian privileged strategic partnership goes back decades of successful development. Within this period of time strong relationships of trust have been formed in various fields, including bilateral military and technical cooperation, which develops dynamically and progressively. An evidence to this are, for example, the agreements on the joint manufacture of modern helicopters Ка-226 and certainly development of a new fighter of the 5th generation– one of the joint projects in the sphere of defense technologies.

On the whole, at present Russia remains a leader in delivering to India the most advanced models of weapons and military materiel and in conducting a joint research work and manufacturing military products.
